After spending the last October and November doing character photo studies, I started to focus on the basic proportion and gestures of human figures. I tried to draw the figures as "manikins" first and add more details on the second passes. Some of those studies used photo references, and the others did not. This exercise aims to train my brain to see human figures in three-dimensional space so that I could apply simple shadings to them accordingly. For the moment, I am temporarily ignoring the muscle structures as that would be another important subject I want to work on next.
Big shout out to my super talented friend T S for inspiring me to do this exercise. You can see his awesome artworks here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/68PBor.
